Miesl Ask, Jen Do: 36 things about me, 36 things about you!

imiesl posted that she wants to know 36 things about everyone on their friendslist, so I figured I'd oblige because <strike>I'm bored</strike> I love her. ALSO, I want to know 36 things about everyone on MY friendslist too, so I provided y'all with an empty version of the list of questions behind the cut. Like her, I don't care if we hardly (if ever) speak, all the more reason to do it if we don't. ;)

I'm posting my response to hers in here, because it's too big to put in a comment. ¬_¬

1) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
A. Yes, have been for almost 6 years.

2) What was your dream growing up?
A. I had several dreams. In no particular order:
    - Becoming a veterinarian;
    - Becoming an astronomer (crushed by my complete SUCKING at physics. I was beyond horrible, even managing to get less than an F (or less than 10%, which is what people got if they cheated on tests. Seriously).
    - Marrying my true love and having 10 children. This one pretty much evaporated once I figured out what part of the body babies came through.
    - Being insanely rich and moving to Switzerland.

3) What talent do you wish you had?
A. I'd like to be able to play SOME kind of instrument. At some point I played the flute. Badly.

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
A. If we're in a restaurant, an iced tea. If we're at a bar... honestly, anything with alcohol in it. I like baileys (irish cream) and beer, so either of those would be good.

5) Favorite vegetable?
A. Spinach

6) What was the last book you read?
A. Lolita. Which shamefully was many years ago. I lost interest in reading in high school when I HAD to read certain books, and barely read anything since. Which is kind of funny if you know that, as a young kid, my mother had to come with me to the library to convince the librarian that I was allowed to read books far beyond my age because I'd finished pretty much everything else. >.>

7) What zodiac sign are you?
A. Scoripio

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
A. Aside from earrings (5 in each ear) I have a nose piercing, and three tattoos on my shoulder (cliché panther), stomach (butterflies that will turn into giant birds of legend if I get pregnant/obese) and above my left ankle..

9) Worst Habit?
A. Smoking, or drinking when I go out because once I start, I don't stop chugging the liquor down till I go home. Or till I'm brought home, since I'm generally unable to walk properly.

10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride?
A. Yes. Unless I'm on my bike, unless you like the discomfort and pain of riding on a bike without any proper place to sit on.

11) What is your favorite sport?
A. Tennis.

12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?
A. Optimistic

13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
A. Talk, and because I just get giggly in situations like that, mock the situation we're in and laugh a lot.

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A. The death of my father. I was very young when he died, and have no conscious memories of him. That probably makes it even worse than it is, despite my stepdad being the most awesome man on the planet, ever.

15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
A. I work in porn.

16) Do you have any pets?
A. Yes, i have dogs. A husky named Dakota, and (well, mostly my brother's but I consider her mine too) a stafford terrier called Fifie.

17) What if i showed up at your house unexpectedly?
A. I'd be pretty freaking surprised that you'd come all the way to Holland to visit me. Then I'd take you on a tour through Rotterdam and force you to go to a sushi bar with me.

18) What was your first impression of me? (hmmm...careful!)
A. That you were a crazy, fun girl. The crazy part was pretty much because of my bias to everyone I got to know through Nina.

19) Do you think clowns are cute or scary?
A. Scary as fuck, and I blame 'It' for it all.

20) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
A. I'm pretty happy with how I look, but I guess I wouldn't mind a slightly thinner nose? I don't know. xD

21) Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?
A. Crime partner.

22) What color eyes do you have?
A. Blue

23) Ever been arrested?
A. No.

24) Bottle or can soda?
A. Can.

25) If you won $10,000 today, what would you do with it?
A. Go on a crazy shopping spree.

26) Who knows you best?
A. Christian, my twin brother.

27) What's your favorite place to hang at?
A. A bar near where I work, or my bedroom.

28) Do you believe in ghosts?
A. No.

29) Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
A. Laze around my room on my laptop, go out to eat sushi, go drinking, or catch a movie.

30) Do you swear a lot?
A. Yes. In true Dutch tradition, I throw around diseases like they were meant for it.

31) Biggest pet peeve?
A. I have an insanely low tolerance for people who dress badly, the homeless/beggers and people that don't bother to spell properly because 'lol internet'.

32) In one word, how would you describe yourself?
A. Insanalicious.

33) Do you believe/appreciate romance?
A. Yes.

34) When was the last time you told a lie?
A. Today.

35) Do you believe in God?
A. No.

36) Will you repost this so I can fill it out and do the same for you?
A. Yes.

Aaaaaand:

1) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
A.

2) What was your dream growing up?
A.

3) What talent do you wish you had?
A.

4) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
A.

5) Favorite vegetable?
A.

6) What was the last book you read?
A.

7) What zodiac sign are you?
A.

8) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
A.

9) Worst Habit?
A.

10) If you saw me walking down the street would you offer me a ride?
A.

11) What is your favorite sport?
A.

12) Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude?
A.

13) What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me?
A.

14) Worst thing to ever happen to you?
A.

15) Tell me one weird fact about you.
A.

16) Do you have any pets?
A.

17) What if i showed up at your house unexpectedly?
A.

18) What was your first impression of me?
For those of you that post at the Lounge (Andy and... uh, probably others xD), the domain expired and will have to be renewed, same with the server. This will, however, cost more than I think any of us would like (about $240, yergh). I'm going to look into getting an IvisionFree board up and running sometime this week. I don't know how I'm gonna get the word out to everyone, since I don't know if I have all of the posters' e-mail addies, but I'll see if I can get the gang back together.

The silver lining

I've been having pretty darn horrible back problems the past week or so, after having had minor problems for small periods of time in the past few years. I went to the doctor this morning, and apparenlty there's something wrong about the way I stand and move my upper body. I do everything from the middle of my back/spinal cord, and the bottom is like "Hello? Don't make me hurt you!", which of course it did. :P

So the doctor sent me to the physiotherapist, for... I have no idea how to translate this, but it's basically to see someone who does excercises with me to improve my stance. I get to the physiotherapist's office to make my appointment, and to my surprise there's a male receptionist. I don't know how this is in other countries, but here they tend to be female, especially in the medical field (dentists, doctors, etc.). He was -impressive-! I actually forgot why I was there for a second and just handed him the note the doctor gave me. ¬_¬ Blonde pretty men are my kryptonite. Or my aphrodesiac, I don´t know. ¬_¬

He hands me a note with the appointment, then pulls it back before I can grab it - I always hate that, it feels like people are tricking me :P - to add his name, and tells me he's the one I'll have the appointment with. Squee! This is so the silver lining to the whole back pain thing.

Also? My mom had this type of therapy before and just told me to wear a nice set of underwear, because that's what I'll be in come Tuesday. I think karma's on my side. Although most likely I'm gonna be the only one in their underwear. ¬_¬

Even if it does mean revealing my crap taste in music to the population of my friends list, LOL!

"List five songs that you are currently digging - it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions and the five songs (with artist) in your blog. Then tag five people to see what they're listening to."

In random order:

1. "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" by Dusty Springfield
5. "When I Look to the Sky" by Train

Tagging the following five people, but of course you don't have to do it if you don't want to or don't have the time.
Taken from pretty much everyone, though I clicked the actual link in Naomi's journal.

Wile E. Coyote!
You scored 85 Aggression, 71 Sophistication, and 100 Optimism!

You are intelligent, sophisticated, and the physical personification of
the can-do attitude. No matter how many times something blows up in
your face (figuratively or literally) or prized project collapses
around you, you will pick yourself up and try, try again. There is a
good chance that you are very skilled in problem solving and would
probably make a fine engineer. Your main weaknesses (and this is likely
obvious to everyone but yourself) are your overconfidence and complete
lack of perspective. When you inevitably fail at a task (you cant
possibly achieve all of the lofty goals you set for yourself),
you tend to take it personally. If you are not careful, you can become
thoroughly obsessed with what is not really a very meaty goal. Try
taking a step back from time to time and figure out for yourself if it
is really worth it, or if your talents could be best put towards a more
rewarding goal. Also, your desire for things to work out the way youve
planned can make you a bit gullible.

My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 87% on Aggression

You scored higher than 53% on Sophistication

You scored higher than 92% on Optimism

Link: The Which Looney Tune Are You Test written by coolguy3000 on Ok Cupid

I guess that kind of works for me.

Let's just get this out of the way: if I've friended you, I read your journal. I might not respond to every entry (if ever) or read every single word you write, but if I've friended you, you can bet I read your journal, otherwise you'd just be meaningless filler. ;)

Weird dream!

I had the weirdest dream last night. It started off with my friend Nanda and I in the past, where we were being chased by some kind of zombie-esque creatures. To escape them, we entered some kind of time capsule and ended up back in the present.

One of the first things we noticed was how everything was in German. Road signs, sounds we overheard from televisions/radio’s, everything. When we made it to my house, we found out that we were conquered by the Germans long ago, as my mother explained. Somehow she didn’t find it weird that we didn’t know what the hell was going on.

So I turn on the television and find that everything’s in French all of a sudden, which was REALLY confusing (even compared to the rest, LOL). Thankfully my mom informed me that it was the Germans’ doing, in an attempt to convince the resistance in France to stop, LOL! Turns out Germany had conquered all of continental Europe and the only resistance was coming from France (go figure, LOL) and Hungary.

I really have NO idea what any of this means, but the weirdest part was that my dad and old dog were also in the dream. My old dog has been dead for 7 years, and my father died 22 years ago. I can’t even remember my father, nor picture him when I close my eyes, but he looked exactly like he does in photographs in my dream.

Fantastic Four, a kiddy film?

Can anyone who's seen Fantastic Four tell me how this works as movie to take kids to? The word of mouth and reviews have ranged from crappola to mediocre, with one or two huzzahs thrown in so my excitement to see this has waned somewhat. But if this is as suitable for kids as I keep hearing it is, I might take my niece and nephews to see it when it comes out here this week. Kids don't really care about a movie's quality as long as they're fun, so it sound like a decent choice. They could have a good time, I could have Chris Evans. All would be well!

Any thoughts?

I don’t think I mentioned this here before, so here goes: last week I found out that, despite defending my thesis perfectly, I couldn’t graduate till September. I still had assessments to do, and before the 28th I didn’t know that the assessments had to be done before July 4th. Since the process leading up to an assessment takes 14 days, that apparently meant I had to wait for my degree till September and pay a month’s worth of tuition.

Of course I didn’t agree with that, partially because I was delayed last year due to my guidance counsellor taking three months before giving me the green light to start with my final internship. For no reason other than that she apparently couldn’t figure out whether or not I had completed a series of projects properly, which I’d completed in MAY. I’m glad the communication between teachers is so great at my college. Gah.

Luckily I managed to arrange that I can graduate in August, meaning I won’t have to pay tuition. Still, the guidance counsellor and teachers affiliated with the projects apparently don’t agree with my point of view. Odd, considering I have 20-something e-mails confirming that it was entirely their fault. Telling me they didn’t agree with me along with telling me I could graduate sooner was kinda stupid, since I would have dropped it if they’d just told me I could graduate in August. But because they felt the need to tell me they don’t agree with me, I’m going to put all my energy into making sure their superiors know I’m right, and that those responsible suffer for messing with me and my education.

On a different note, another teacher did something quite odd last week. I’d send in a prototype of the final product for a class I still had to complete for her to give me feedback on. When I checked this morning, I found that for some reason she’d given me a grade for the prototype and based on that and my grades for my project documentation a final grade for the class. Hel-lo? PROTOTYPE means it’s not finished, you crazy woman! Ah well, I got a 75% for the final product and 87% for the class as a whole, so I guess I can’t complain. But since the only things she had anything negative to say about were things I was planning on changing, I can’t stop thinking how I’d have had an even better grade if I’d actually finished it.

Ah well.

I swear, Dakota always has the biggest mouth and pretends he's the biggest, baddest Husky to ever walk the Earth, but he's such a freaking sissy when it comes to thunder. If he's not shaking, he's panting and it's starting to become freaking annoying. Because of course he can't pant in the next room, it has to be here. >.<

Worst thing is that when I get angry he stops panting, because that just shows he's doing it only because he's afraid of thunder. And there barely IS any thunder. Gah! Shape up, sissy dog! >=(

I finally graduated from college today, yay! Well, I don't actually have my degree yet (and would you believe I have no clue what kind I'll get? :P) but the defense of my thesis was today and it went perfectly. No more school ever, yay!! I'm surprised it went so well. I managed to completely stomp on any arguments thrown at my thesis and had an elaborate answer for every question asked. I felt so smart. Yes, that's a first. :P
