They choices for answers were often very limited and/or dumb, but the outcome sounds pretty much like me, so I'm not complaining too much. :-) Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test... The MindgamerEverything is possible, nothing is ever really over. Fanfiction is a creative outlet for you. You don't intentionally write it, it just happens. You find inspiration in several fandoms, but are not obsessed with only one. You like to explore "what if" situations. What if this character had never made this very choice? What if this event had taken place sooner, never, elsewhere? What if these people had never met? You are likely to write Alternative Universes, fan seasons or sequels and just follow your (sometimes pretty strange) plot bunnies. Direct copy of my latest Facebook update: "Just came back from Sherlock Holmes. HoYay and gorgeous thieves (admittedly with more face than talent), the best of two worlds! Not to mention the steampunk atmosphere, ridiculous plot and calculated fighting! I may be in love." So, please, anyone who also has seen and loved it, do come here and talk to me about it! Links of various sorts are highly welcome. For those of you who haven't seen it, neither I nor morthel, who saw it with me, are fans of any previous Sherlock Holmes. This probably helps. Though certain book fans say it's more close to canon than the critics give it credit for. (Not to mention that the parentage to shows like House and Psych become crystal clear in this version. *g*) Also, I'm trying to figure out how I can be utterly unattracted to a) blonds, b) moustaches, and c) Jude Law, yet I love Watson like whoah. I guess I should 'fess up about my Yuletide fic. It's really pretty obviously written by me, though I doubt any of you guessed it; but that's mainly because I doubt any of you read it. ;-) But that's okay, I pretty much knew I was cutting my potential readership in half by giving an advance peek to three of the DWJ fans on my flist. Anyway, here you have it: From the Files on WonderlandFandom: Magids series (Diana Wynne Jones) Summary: When Rupert wants to take Maree out on a surprise date, the quarrel they have is only the beginning of their troubles. It's kind of funny, I didn't set out to write a plotty fic, or a crossover. At the beginning, it was just an argument. But I've written a number of argument fics for Yuletide already and was feeling a bit meh about the whole thing. Then I talked to roseveare about the story and the conversation touched on potential plottiness, and things I was scared of (decapitation)... and before I knew it, Wonderland started making an appearance in the plot, and I could finally start writing. I'm thinking of posting the story to the DWJ comms also, because Lord knows it could use some attention. (Am attention whore.) *** I've also read some more books, including Going Postal, which was just great. I kept reading "just a bit more" when I should be doing other things. And I now finally understand why all the Discworld fics lately seem to be Moist von Lipwig/Vetinari, because Moist really is the first main character to almost think like Vetinari. He's not as good at it, of course, but he has a similar kind of mind, and one might imagine him in sixty years (if he's still alive) to be rather Vetinari-like. It's funny, the book clearly states that Moist has an unnoticeable face, and I've only ever seen two episodes of White Collar, and yet I couldn't help imagining him as Neal Caffrey. Don't know what's up with that. *** I've also seen the end of End of Time, but that calls for its own post - later.
